THAILAND’S HIGH SPEED RAILWAY

Thailand high-speed railway
There has been ongoing talk for the past 4 years (or longer) about the Thailand high speed railway line coming to Hua Hin. We’re all very excited to potentially have this transportation option available to us here in Hua Hin. Being able to travel back and forth between Bangkok and Hua Hin on a high speed train will surely change the way we live, work and play in our little central coast town. Perhaps this railway project will even transform this idyllic beach town into a large, thriving city….we will just have to wait and see. I imagine that many of the Hua Hin residents will welcome the ability to travel back and forth between Bangkok and Hua Hin with ease and comfort, and most importantly, shaving hours off of the travel time. Read more about the proposed high speed rail line here on XinHuaNet. It seems that the Thai government is also looking for financial support from the private sector. Several large companies, such as ThaiBev and CP Group are considering investing in the the project. The projected build time for each leg (BKK to Pattaya & Rayong and BKK to Hua Hin) is around 30-36 months. See the original article here at the Bangkok Post.
